KGB 13-K SanDiego music survey 4-24-81Gary Cocker

Back in the 60's it was 136/KGB and Boss Radio under the Bill Drake consultancy. They dropped Top 40 in 1972 but returned in 1979 as "13-K" under John Lander, which worked again for a few years until Top 40 radio on AM was pretty much dead in San Diego. KIST Santa Barbara 1965








Here are parts of a 1965 sales sheet from Top 40 KIST in Santa Barbara, including pictures of the KIST DJs. Little bitty KIST on 1340 was quoting the January 1965 Pulse as placing them "by far Number ONE" in Santa Barbara.
